Christmas time is here and there’s no better feeling than creating fun memories with our little ones. Scroll down to find tonnes of Christmassy ideas to keep you and your little one entertained this holiday season. The activities are great for bonding, great for showing kindness towards others as you can make items and give them to others and they are just great for fine motor skills too. From easy crafts to sensory play, you’ll find something to make those magical memories right here.
Melted Snowman Cards

A fun activity involving paint, glue and paper. Click through the link above to get more detailed instructions.
Finger Painting Christmas Tree

Cut a green triangle out of paper and stick it either on a card or another piece of paper. Let your little one free with some finger paints.
Cutting Santa’s Beard

Find this and more activities in my Christmas Activity Pack – an instant download available here.
Christmas Tree Playdough

Make some green playdough. Lay out some large, colourful beads and some sparkly pipe cleaners. Get the children to roll the playdough and stick a lolly stick into it to make the tree shape. Then, they can embellish the trees as they wish.
Personalised Snow Globe

Get a paper plate and paint it blue. When dry, add dots of white paint. My two loved doing this as finger painting. Take a photo of your little one all bundled up in their winter coat, gloves, hat and scarf. I got mine to do a jump. Go into Canva and delete the background. Print the picture out and stick it onto your blue, snowy background.
Pom Pom Sorting

Cut out some felt or paper in the colours of your pom poms and put in the base of a paint tray or some cups and invite your child to use tweezers to sort the pom poms into the correct colour tray.
Fake Snow Sensory Bin

This smells divine! It’s hair conditioner mixed with cornflour. It is a bit crumbly and so is great for making snowy scenes and children can have a go at making snowmen in the ‘snow’.

Christmas Potato Stamping

Create your own wrapping paper using potatoes, cookie cutters, plain packaging paper and paints.
Velcro Christmas Tree

Here’s a link to a similar one. My daughters love redecorating this tree. We just need to find somewhere to hang it up.
Snowman Playdough Activity

Make some white playdough, add some silver or white glitter after it’s come off the heat and invite your littles to make their very own snowman.
Decorative Baubles

My 3-year-old loved this activity. It was really simple to set up too.
Red-Nosed Cupcakes

This is a basic chocolate fairy cake with melted chocolate frosting. I added two edible eyes, broke a piece off a Curly-Wurly for the antlers and a red Smartie for the nose.
Easy Gingerbread Houses

These are so much easier to make and decorate than the inedible shop-bought monstrosities.
Christmas Playdough Shapes

Provide some white playdough, or even red or green to keep in the Christmas theme, some Christmas cookie cutters and rolling pins and see what your littles can make.
