Melted Snowman Christmas Cards

Are you looking for a fun, crafty activity with your young children for Christmas? Why not combine a piece of art with making Christmas cards for friends and family. This toddler and preschooler activity can even be made by older children as it’s just a lot of fun and doesn’t have to be perfect.

These cards were a hit with my 2-year-old and 4-year-old. They were easy to make, needed minimal assistance and they look like a child made them, rather than just an adult.

Tip – add a sprinkling of white or silver glitter before the paint dries to add an element of sparkle.

Resources needed:

  • Card
  • Blue paper
  • Black paper
  • Orange paper
  • Green paper
  • White paint
  • paint brush
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Fold a piece of white card in half.
  2. Cut out a piece of blue paper that is just smaller than the size of one half of the card.
  3. Prepare the white paint and get your child to paint on the blue paper any way they like.
  4. Let it dry.
  1. While it’s drying, get the black paper and cut out a hat, some circles for the buttons and two stick arms.
  2. Using the green paper, cut out a scarf shape.
  3. Cut out a triangle from the orange paper for the snowman’s nose.
  4. Ask your child to glue the parts of the snowman on, or you glue them and give them to them to glue on.
  5. Leave it to dry and then write the card.

Have fun making these!
