Here’s a simple Remembrance Day Activity for your toddler or young child suitable for at home, at nursery, at playgroup or a childminder’s.

- Make some red playdough, my favourite recipe is here. It literally takes minutes and doesn’t cost a lot either. Or buy some pre-made red playdough or plasticine.
- Get your child to pull a bit off and roll it in their hands. You could do some fun fine motor skills practice here using Youtube videos of Dough Disco or similar rolling and squeezing and stretching the playdough in their fingers – strengthening all those little muscles in their fingers getting their hands ready for writing when they’re a little older.
- Give them some green paper straws. Can they cut the straws to make the stems? (This is great fine motor skills practice!)
- Stick the straw in the playdough and they have a poppy!
